Job summary

Bechtel Poland is seeking a Contract Administrator to manage subcontract administration for the AP1000 project. You will oversee moderate-to-high complexity subcontracts, ensuring compliance with IWPP, Policy 230, and DSCS governance.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will support post‑award tasks, coordinate with Engineering, Construction, and Legal, and contribute to risk management and change administration to deliver a major nuclear infrastructure project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience (or 9–12 years total) in subcontract formation/administration.
  • Experience with EPC, nuclear, infrastructure, or major industrial projects.
  • Experience with DSCS or digital supply chain systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor assigned subcontracts from execution to closeout.
  • Identify risks in subcontract terms and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Manage changes, amendments, and claims per project procedures.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, and Legal for effective execution.
  • Maintain subcontract records and reporting for audit readiness.
  • Support project audits and lessons learned on subcontracting.

Project Overview

Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas.

Job Summary

The Contract Administrator supports the delivery of subcontract administration activities for the Poland AP1000 Project. The role is responsible for managing assigned subcontracts of moderate to high complexity throughout the execution and closeout, ensuring commercial, contractual, and project requirements are implemented in accordance with project procedures, the Integrated Work Process and Procedure (IWPP), Policy 230, and DSCS governance requirements.

Working under the direction of the Contracts Manager, the role supports all post-award administration activities while coordinating closely with Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Quality, Legal, Risk Management, and Supply Chain stakeholders. The position exercises professional judgement on contractual and commercial matters, supports risk management and change administration activities, and contributes to the successful delivery of a major nuclear infrastructure project.

Major Responsibilities
  • Administers assigned subcontracts throughout execution, including management of contractual obligations, performance monitoring, change administration, payment reviews, and closeout activities.
  • Reviews subcontract terms and commercial provisions to identify risks, ambiguities, and compliance concerns and supports development of mitigation strategies.
  • Manages subcontract changes, amendments, compensation events, claims, and commercial correspondence in accordance with project procedures and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinates closely with Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, Quality, Procurement, Legal, and Risk Management to ensure effective subcontract execution and interface management.
  • Maintains subcontract records, registers, commercial reports, forecasts, and correspondence to ensure accurate reporting and audit readiness.
  • Supports resolution of contractual and commercial issues with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with IWPP, Policy 230, project procedures, DSCS requirements, and applicable regulatory and export control obligations.
  • Utilises DSCS and associated project systems to manage workflows, approvals, reporting, and subcontract records.
  • Supports project audits, management reviews, claims assessments, and lessons learned activities related to subcontract formation and administration.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Requires bachelor's (or international equivalent) in Business, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Supply Chain, or a related discipline with 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in subcontract formation and administration on EPC, nuclear, infrastructure, energy, or major industrial projects.
  • Experience supporting commercial evaluations, negotiations, contract award processes, and post-award contract management activities.
  • Experience working within structured governance frameworks and digital supply chain systems such as DSCS is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated project environments and knowledge of European contracting practices is desirable
Required Knowledge and Skills

Strong experience administering complex subcontracts, including performance monitoring, compensation events, amendments, claims, and contractual compliance.

Commercial Risk & Problem Solving

Ability to identify, assess, and manage contractual and commercial risks using sound judgement and structured commercial processes.

Stakeholder & Interface Management

Proven ability to work effectively with Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain personnel, and subcontractors to support project delivery.

Governance & Digital Systems

Working knowledge of EPC contracting practices, IWPP, Policy 230, DSCS, and project procedures, with the ability to ensure compliant and auditable subcontract execution.
