Job summary

Hapag-Lloyd is hiring in Gdańsk for a role coordinating empty container movements and forecasting inventory needs across the depots network. You will plan, arrange and monitor transport, coordinate with terminals, depots, and subcontractors, and strive for cost optimization.

The ideal candidate has liner shipping experience, established contacts with terminal operators and hauliers, a university degree in logistics or related fields, a proactive attitude, and spoken/written English at B2 level

Qualifications

Experience in liner shipping and container logistics.
Contacts with terminal, depot operators and hauliers is a plus.
University degree in Shipping, Maritime Organization, Foreign Trade or Logistics.
Proactive and able to work under pressure.
Analytical and team-oriented approach.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PPT).

Responsibilities

Maintain equipment inventory according to forecasted need.
Arrange empty transport from surplus to demand areas.
Plan and organize empties based on forecasted needs.
Coordinate trade management and vessel operations.
Monitor, coordinate and steer empty container equipment within depots.
Ensure cost-optimization in all areas.
Prepare templates, statistics and analysis for the department and supervisor as needed.
Establish and maintain contacts with subcontractors.
Cooperate with other departments to ensure smooth, goal-oriented activity.
Close cooperation with depots on container positioning and repair.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
