Role

The Consolidation and Reporting Specialist plays a crucial role within the consolidation team, serving as a key contributor for the Europe region. This role involves supporting the consolidation process for 44 group entities and preparing five distinct sets of financial statements. As one of the firm’s specialists in UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit-related matters, you will provide essential guidance on these topics. Strong communication skills are vital, as the specialist collaborates closely with key internal stakeholders and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements for UK and European entities in line with UK GAAP.
  • Support the consolidation of financial results from multiple European entities for group reporting purposes
  • Support the delivery of statutory accounts within agreed deadlines, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for statutory audits and respond to auditor queries.
  • Review financial information submitted by local finance teams and investigate variances or inconsistencies.
  • Assist with consolidation adjustments, including intercompany eliminations and basic foreign currency translation.
  • Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting working papers.
  • Work with local finance teams across Europe to collect financial data and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
  • Help maintain documentation of statutory and consolidation processes and controls.
  • Contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency and data quality within statutory and consolidation reporting.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years finance experience in an international finance team.
  • Good understanding of statutory accounting and financial reporting principles, ideally including UK GAAP (or IFRS standards).
  • Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or working towards qualification would be additional benefit.
  • Experience working with multi-entity or international financial data.
  • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with stakeholders across different countries and cultures.
  • Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail.
  • English written and spoken.
  • Organized and methodical, with the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Willing to learn and develop technical accounting skills.
  • Comfortable working with colleagues across different countries and cultures.
