Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a Commissioning Technician to join our team in Szczecin. You will commission machines, lines and automation systems, testing PLC/HMI software and verifying electrical connections.

You will travel up to 60% of the year to client sites across Europe and further, work with PLC environments (TIA Portal, TwinCAT, Studio 5000), and help document FAT. We offer opportunities to grow in commissioning and a supportive, diverse work culture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commissioning and maintenance experience on machines and industrial equipment.
• Willingness to travel about 60% of the year to multiple countries.
• Ability to run functional tests and verify automation solutions.
• Knowledge of industrial automation and IO checking.
• Basic PLC programming skills are a plus.
• English at B2 level.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and start-up of machines and lines according to project documents.
• Test machines and PLC/HMI software and verify operation.
• Check electrical connections and IO signals.
• Parameterize automation devices like inverters and sensors.
• Work in PLC environments such as TIA Portal, TwinCAT or Studio 5000.
• Support line and machine start-up at client sites and collaborate with project teams.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in commissioned systems.
• Prepare FAT documentation and related records.

Job description

We are looking for a Commissioning Technician to join our team, responsible for commissioning machines, lines, and industrial equipment as well as testing automation systems. This role is for a technically minded person who wants to develop in the commissioning area and collaborate with experienced PLC programmers on client projects.

Your tasks

• Performing commissioning and start-up of machines, industrial equipment, and software according to documentation in various sectors such as intralogistics systems, automated production lines, and process systems
• Testing machines and PLC/HMI software (functional tests, operation verification)
• Checking electrical connections and input/output signals (IO check)
• Parameterizing automation devices (inverters, sensors, servo drives)
• Operating and understanding PLC programming environments such as TIA Portal, TwinCAT, or Studio 5000
• Participating in the start-up of lines and industrial machines at clients and collaborating with the project team
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues related to commissioned automation systems
• Participating in FAT and preparing required documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in commissioning and maintenance of machines and industrial equipment
• Willingness to travel for business about 60% of the year, including to Hungary, Germany, Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Italy, USA, and Canada
• Ability to perform functional tests of machines and verify the correctness of automated solutions
• Knowledge of industrial automation and working with automation devices
• Basic PLC programming skills are an additional advantage
• English language proficiency at B2 level
