Job summary

EPAM Systems in Poland is seeking a Cloud Systems Architect - AWS to design, implement and optimize scalable, secure AWS-based solutions for enterprise clients. You will collaborate with senior architects and project teams to drive migration, modernization and cost-efficient cloud strategies.

Responsibilities include translating requirements into designs, prototyping infrastructure, ensuring security and performance, supporting migrations, and guiding CI/CD automation and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience designing AWS-based solutions for enterprise environments.
• Hands-on with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda).
• Knowledge of cloud migration techniques (rehost, refactor, replatform, re-architect).

• Collaborate with teams to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into AWS solution designs.
• Design and prototype AWS infrastructure components, ensuring security, scalability and performance.
• Assist in migrations from on-premises or other cloud platforms to AWS using appropriate methodologies.
• Develop implementation plans and support solution deployment and configuration.
• Apply best practices for CI/CD automation, security hardening and cost optimization.
• Conduct architecture reviews and recommend improvements for availability, resilience and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance during development and integration phases.
• Prepare architecture documentation and ensure alignment with governance policies.
• Collaborate with senior architects in defining architecture standards and patterns.

In this role, you will focus on designing and implementing AWS-based systems that enable seamless migration, modernization and optimization of applications and services. Working closely with senior architects and project teams, you will bring best practices in cloud design, automation and security to ensure reliable and cost-efficient solutions. Requirements

• Proven experience designing and implementing AWS-based solutions in enterprise environments
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda and related components
• Familiarity with cloud migration techniques (rehost, refactor, replatform, re-architect)
• Understanding of hybrid/multi-cloud architectures, networking and connectivity
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of security principles and ability to apply them in AWS environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team setting
• Good communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Nice to have: Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
• Exposure to large-scale migration programs
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate or higher)
