Job summary

The European Investment Bank in Luxembourg seeks a Climate Change Specialist to join the Policy Implementation Unit within the Sustainability and Climate Office. You will lead climate policy and risk workstreams, contribute to Paris Alignment of counterparties, and represent the Bank in external technical groups.

You will collaborate across the Projects Directorate and EIF, building partnerships and delivering Phase 2 of the Climate Bank Roadmap with a high degree of autonomy.

Qualifications

• University degree (Bachelor level) in engineering, economics or related field; environmental/climate studies are an advantage.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, incl. 2 years in climate change.
• Strong Excel and data analytics skills for managing complex datasets; coding ability is advantageous.
• Knowledge of international climate policy and best practices among IFIs and UN organisations is preferred.
• Experience with greenhouse gas calculations and accounting methodologies (PCAF, GHG Protocol) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement Paris Alignment framework for counterparties and related climate risk procedures.
• Lead greenhouse gas accounting and emissions modelling workstreams across the portfolio.
• Support development of climate risk governance, tools, and data procurement.
• Develop external partnerships to advance the Bank's climate risk work with MDBs and NGFS.
