Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Classification Specialist to support Global Trade Classification (CGT) with daily tasks and department projects. You will classify products, analyze FTAs, and help ensure compliance with Rockwell's global procedures across the EMEA/AP region.

The role reports to the Team Leader, TRADE CLASSIFICATION- EMEA/AP and requires a Bachelor's degree plus 1+ years in classification and import/export compliance, with strong English and Polish language skills.

• English and Polish skills.
• 1+ years of experience in classification and import/export compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• General knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule, global origin rules, and WCO guidelines.
• Understand U.S. export controls and the Commerce Control List.
• Determine global HTS and COO for products.
• Read Bills of Materials and engineering drawings.
• Create backup documentation for classifications and origin.
• Monitor shipments for missing data and release orders in systems.
• Navigate SAP/IFS to troubleshoot daily transactions.
• Respond to classification inquiries and work on global projects.

Job Description

The Classification Specialist is an individual contributor who also works in a team environment on different activities that impact Classification for Global Trade (CGT) and the Company. You will handle daily transactional tasks and department projects as assigned. The Classification Specialist will work on issues of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data is required. Specialist can determine accurate export/import classification data for standard and IFS products using appropriate software tools and following RA Global Trade Compliance policies and procedures. Specialist will also conduct analysis whether products qualify for different FTAs. You will support global Company program, projects and participate in global auditing of classification data. Through an understanding of both compliance processes and information systems, you will help discuss strategies and improvements within the department.

You will report to the Team Leader, TRADE CLASSIFICATION- EMEA/AP.

Your Responsibilities

• General knowledge of the following regulations and rules: Harmonized Tariff Schedule on a global level following WCO rules and regulations; Global Country of Origin rules.
• U.S. Export Administration Regulations and the Commerce Control List and working knowledge of foreign export control laws.
• Determine global HTS codes, COO for all products.
• Read and interpret Bills of Material, engineering drawings and other technical data.
• Create adequate backup documentation for product classifications and country of origin per department procedures.
• Working knowledge of global Free Trade Agreements and how to determine eligibility.
• Monitor inbound and outbound shipments for missing classification data.
• Release orders on hold in the systems.
• Navigate SAP/IFS systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise in daily transactions.
• Respond to classification inquiries from outside of the department.
• Work on projects as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with Rockwell Automation global procedures.
• Achieve results for monthly metrics.

The Essentials – You Will Have

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, International Business, Operations, Logistics, or Engineering.
• English and Polish skills.
• 1+ years of experience in classification and import/export compliance activities.
