Job summary

Jobtailor in Kraków seeks a civil engineering professional to support nuclear and energy projects through analysis, design, and construction preparation. You will contribute to safety documentation and life-cycle design, while progressing toward Chartered Engineer status and collaborating with clients.

The role emphasizes rigorous modelling, compliance with standards, and clear communication with stakeholders, with a strong focus on CPD and regulated environments.

Qualifications

• MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in civil engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body (we will support you).
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, design tools and relevant guidelines, standards and practices.
• Experience using finite element modelling software and associated post processing software.
• Experience in validation and verification of modelling tools and their outputs.
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and good practice.
• Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment.
• Ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress.
• Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
• Commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
• Awareness of civil engineering principles from highly regulated industries is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support analysis, design and construction preparation activities relating to structures and civil engineering features within nuclear and energy projects.
• Support requirements capture and a Systems Engineering approach.
• Contribute across the project lifecycle from bid generation through concept and detailed design development to construction.
• Prepare safety case inputs, including Safety Functional Requirements (SFRs), Structural Design Method Statements (SDMSs) and Design Substantiation Reports (DSRs).
• Prepare Interpretive Reports, Basis of Design, Finite Element Modelling and Analyses, Calculations, CDM documentation, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, and Technical Reports.
• Assist with design safety documentation and compliance with nuclear safety standards.
• Contribute to problem-solving, technical investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Produce high-quality technical reports.
• Build and maintain relationships with peers, partners and clients.
