Job summary

Euroclear is seeking a Citizen Developer to join the Banking Data Management team, driving citizen development and data services to support risk and reporting for the division. You will build automated tools and dashboards, enabling better data insights and governance across multiple data sources and platforms.

You will work with Power Platform, SQL and various DBMS to transform data into actionable insights, supporting business units and regulators.

Qualifications

• Strong data manipulation and modelling skills, including SQL, to turn data into insights.
• Experience with Power Platform and data automation is expected.
• Familiarity with multiple DBMS and data warehouses (DB2, Hadoop, OPICS, Credit DWH) is a plus.
• Willingness to work across IT development and business units; liaison duties.
• Fluent English communication and ability to present to stakeholders.

The Team

The Banking and Network Management division is a driving force to deliver innovative solutions for clients and to manage the Credit, Liquidity and Market risks for the bank. It makes decisions based on markets and customers knowledge to enable Euroclear business within the risk management framework established by Management, governance bodies and Regulators.

The Team The Banking and Network Management division is a driving force to deliver innovative solutions for clients and to manage the Credit, Liquidity and Market risks for the bank. It makes decisions based on markets and customers knowledge to enable Euroclear business within the risk management framework established by Management, governance bodies and Regulators. More specifically, you will be part of the Banking Data Management team defining and offering citizen development’s automation and data services to facilitate the management of the division’s business lines and associated risks. We develop, from A to Z, and maintain a wide range of reporting and monitoring tools and automations for the various departments within the Banking and Network Management division. This allows the business to reduce manual operations, control the different risks, get more insights into the data, and take the right decisions. We also provide other internal and external clients and regulators with business reports and data analysis. We are involved in almost all projects of the Banking Roadmap which impact the data. Our team targets a long list of data sources within the bank through mainframe (DB2), SQL Server and Hadoop. This means we are familiar with several data models and are considered as the team-to-go-to for data analysis.

Role

We strive to play a leading role in achieving effective Citizen Development/Data Analysis in Euroclear. We are in the process of extending our services to better support the Banking and Network Division with:

• Automation services and increased data insights leveraging on the Power Platform to automate simple routine tasks and build comprehensive data models and dashboards;


• Advanced Data Analytics Services such as complex business data analysis leveraging on the new Cloud Data Platform;


• AI services leveraging on Copilot Studio and AI builder.

In that scope, we are looking for a Citizen Developer to join our team to strengthen our operational tools development capacity and actively support the building of new automations services.

Your Role

Your Role Will Cover The Following

• develop low/medium complexity reporting/monitoring operational tools within the agreed time frame and expected quality under the supervision of more senior colleagues and/or Team Leader


• translate the business rationale into technical requirements together with the Subject Matter Experts


• could perform code review


• could develop Power Automation and/or Power Apps leveraging on the Power Platform


• follow Risk framework methodology


• provide quick and efficient support to end-users of the division


• support initiatives to bring and keep data under governance


• contribute to data testing activities


• contribute to corporate priority projects

Your data manipulation and modelling skills - i.e., understanding of a data model and knowledge of SQL - should be complemented by a high level of business acumen to turn data into insights, validate the business rationale of the obtained figures and develop tools that can be used to make sound business decisions.

You May Also Act As a Liaison Between The IT Development Group And Business Units For The Development And Implementation Of New Tools And Services And Enhancement Of Existing Systems. This Will Be Translated In IT-oriented Activities Like

• definition/review of business requirements for projects


• coordination or active involvement in projects testing and deployment


• improve data quality by doing root-cause analysis, in collaboration with IT

Your Profile

Technical Skills

• Good Excel knowledge: VBA programming is currently essential to support the tools that we develop


• Good knowledge of SQL, able to perform medium complexity data manipulation and analysis by writing efficient queries


• Analytical skills to be able to connect figures to the actual business and detect abnormal trends


• You can interact with various Relational Database Management Systems (SQL Server, Oracle, IBM Mainframe, etc.)


• Knowledge of the different key databases/data warehouses concerning Banking (Mainframe DB2, Hadoop, OPICS and Credit DWH) is a clear plus


• Experience with the Agile way of working is a plus


• Eagerness to stay abreast of new tools and technologies and continuously develop your data analytics skills through self-learning


• Experience with the following technologies is a plus: Azure DevOps as deployment workflow, Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps), Microsoft Power BI as a developer (DAX), UiPath, Abbyy Flexi Capture, Splunk, Process Mining using Celonis , python programming knowledge with the Spark framework in Jupyter Notebook, Databricks, Copilot Studio, AI builder

Soft Skills

• Strong eagerness to understand the various business services (i.e. credit, treasury, settlement, income, new issues, money transfer, collateral management, ...) and how these affect the credit, market, and liquidity risk


• Global business knowledge of Euroclear Bank Operations and Banking is a big asset


• You have strong verbal and written communication skills (especially in English) as well as good customer relationship skills to present the results of a use case to different audiences (from end users up to division management). You can explain complex concepts in a simplified manner


• You have good presentation and marketing skills
