Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland sp. z o.o. seeks a Chief Accounting Officer to lead financial reporting, treasury, governance, and transformation at the Jawor site.

You will drive compliance with IFRS, Polish accounting rules, and tax regulation while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The role demands senior leadership, strong analytics, and extensive experience in change management, with English fluency and intercultural competence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IFRS and Polish Accounting Act, and tax requirements.
• Advanced MS Excel skills and SAP (FI, MM) experience.
• Strong economics, treasury, cash management, and financial reporting knowledge.
• State aid and group reporting expertise.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in change management and organizational transformation projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.
• High intercultural competence and leadership maturity.

Responsibilities

• Participate in plant management team and support business strategy.
• Oversee plant closing, ensuring timely, compliant financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and internal controls (VAT).
• Review and approve contracts from accounting perspective.
• Manage budgets, costs, resource planning in admin functions.
• Drive improvements and transformation initiatives.
• Support transformation projects and audit readiness with external bodies.
• Collaborate with local and corporate teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure transparent reporting.

Description

Your Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the plant management team and support the overall business strategy
• Take responsibility for the plant closing process, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, legal requirements, and internal control standards including preparation VAT tax return
• Reviews and approves contracts and other documents from an accounting side
• Manage budgets, cost optimization initiatives, and resource planning across administrative functions.
• Drive organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support plant transformation projects and strategic change management activities. Supervises the implementation of new projects related to company development and legal requirements.
• Facilitate cooperation between local management, corporate functions, and external stakeholders. Cooperation with internal tax department.
• Ensure transparent reporting and performance monitoring through relevant KPIs.
• Cooperate closely with external auditors/institutions/ public institutions and coordinate audit-related requirements for the plant as well as with Share Service Centers
• Promote a culture of integrity, collaboration, diversity, and employee engagement. Responsible for the development of employees
• Monitors changes in legal regulations on an ongoing basis, recommends and implements changes to internal procedures.
• Ensures proper execution of the company’s treasury processes

• Excellent knowledge of IFRS regulations, Polish Accounting Act, Tax
• Practical knowledge of MS Office especially advanced Excel skills, SAP (FI, MM).
• Very good knowledge of economics, treasury processes, financing/cash management, financial statement preparation, internal audit, SOX
• Advanced knowledge of state aid and group reporting
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience in change management and organizational transformation projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Fluent in English; German language skills are advantageous
• High level of intercultural competence and leadership maturity.
