Job description

At neustark, we’re all in for one mission: permanently removing one million tons of CO2 in 2030, and even more every year beyond that. Why? It’s a no-brainer: we want to enable a bright future for all future generations on our planet. And for that, we need to reduce and remove CO2, now.

Sound exciting? Well, there’s more! We’re a closely knitted team of around 60 neustarkers, working flexibly, internationally and full of passion and ambition. We’re scaling up our solution and impact every day, currently in full-fledge expansion mode. Speed and pragmatism drive our day-to-day, as do growing together and having tons of fun together!

Do you want to help us grow our impact? Then join our carbon removal mission today 🚀

This is what YOUR future team does:

As a member of our Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our carbon removal credits. We certify the climate impact of our projects according to official carbon standards and trade the credits on the voluntary carbon market. The MRV team oversees the entire process—from project registration and validation to monitoring, verification, and the retirement of carbon removal certificates—driving real, measurable climate action.

YOUR mission at neustark:
  • Ensure accurate measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) of Neustark's climate projects under various certification standards, maintaining detailed documentation and efficiently prioritizing tasks.
  • Manage validation and verification audits at our carbon removal sites across Europe, conduct stakeholder consultations and prepare relevant documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with departments such as IT, Operations and Sales to streamline data collection, storage, and monitoring processes, driving improvements through automation.
  • Proactively identify and address roadblocks, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure the smooth execution of certification processes.
This is what we offer YOU:
  • Sustainability mission: Co-create a tangible climate impact by helping to scale viable carbon storage and removal solutions.
  • Start-up vibe with a strong financial foundation: Enjoy all the start-uppy perks, from flat hierarchies, fast pace and pragmatic decisions to a joint sense of purpose and FUN – backed by strong investors.
  • Hybrid work culture: We love to work together, and love that how we do it is truly flexible. We encourage flexible hours and workplace based on your and the job’s needs, whilst investing in our office culture – with hubs in Bern, Zurich, Cologne and soon Warsaw – to spend a couple days together every week.
  • Team collaboration: We’re in this amazing journey together and work closely, across hubs and departments to make an impact. It also helps that, once a quarter, we gather our people from all locations to strategize… and party together :)
  • Professional development: At our fast-evolving start-up, you have an abundance of personal and professional growth opportunities. And we support that by offering 2 days’ training budget.
  • Employee benefits
    • Generous public transport and mobile phone allowance.
    • Competitive holiday allowance, including local public holidays and additional time off per country regulations.
    • Colleague-led learning lunches, yoga and running sessions.
This is YOU:
  • University degree in environmental sciences, environmental engineering, natural science or an equivalent academic background.
  • Knowledge of life cycle assessment and experience in carbon accounting in voluntary carbon markets. Ability to communicate complex subjects to a diverse audience. This includes the ability to create high-quality written documents in English.
  • A driven, enthusiast and independent working colleague with good project management skills.
  • Fluent in English. German and/or French are a plus.
  • Based in Poland
