Job summary

Software Mind is seeking a Data Business Analyst to bridge business needs with data analytics capabilities. You will work with a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Data Engineers and BI Specialists to develop analytical and reporting solutions used across the organization.

We expect 4+ years as a BA in Data/BI projects, strong requirements gathering, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Polish language is mandatory; remote work is supported with international projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Data/BI/Analytics or Data Warehouse projects.
• Experience gathering, analyzing and documenting business requirements.
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners, Developers, Data Engineers and BI teams.
• Proven ability to communicate across technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze, and document business requirements related to data, reporting and analytics initiatives.
• Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories, functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Support the Product Owner in backlog management, prioritization and feature clarification.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers and business stakeholders to define data requirements, KPI definitions and reporting needs.
• Analyze source systems, data flows and reporting processes to identify business and data requirements.
• Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and requirement clarification meetings.
• Contribute to functional specifications, process flows, data mapping and solution documentation.

We are looking for a Data Business Analyst who will help bridge business needs with the capabilities of our data and analytics teams. You will work alongside a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Data Engineers and BI Specialists, contributing to the development of analytical and reporting solutions used across the organization. Expectations – the experience you need

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Data, BI, Analytics or Data Warehouse projects
• Strong ability to gather, analyze and document business requirements
• Experience working with Product Owners, Developers, Data Engineers, BI teams and business stakeholders
• Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively across technical and business teams
• Experience analyzing database structures and understanding data relationships
• Knowledge of database objects such as tables, views, procedures and functions
• Understanding of data architectures, including OLTP, OLAP, Data Warehouse, and Data Lake concepts
• Practical knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation
• Experience working with Power BI reports and dashboards
• Knowledge of UML and BPMN
• Polish speaking- mandatory

Additional skills – the edge you have

• Experience using modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, Visual Paradigm, draw.io, or similar
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple parallel requests/priorities
• Experience working with Snowflake
• Understanding of dimensional modeling concepts, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
• Experience defining KPIs, metrics and reporting solutions
• Previous experience as a Product Owner or Proxy Product Owner
• Practical knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
