Software Mind in Kraków seeks a Data Business Analyst / Proxy Product Owner to bridge business needs with data and analytics teams. You will collaborate with a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Data Engineers and BI Specialists to shape data-driven products in an agile environment.

You will capture and refine data requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into technical deliverables while prioritizing work with stakeholders across the organization. Polish language is required.

Formación

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Proxy Product Owner or Product Owner in Data, BI, Analytics or Data Warehouse projects.
• Experience with backlog management and user story refinement in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Ability to gather, analyze and document business requirements.
• Ability to decompose complex requirements into prioritized work items.
• Experience with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Data Engineers, BI teams and business stakeholders.
• Ability to build strong relationships and communicate across technical and business teams.
• Experience analyzing database structures and understanding data relationships.
• Knowledge of database objects (tables, views, procedures, functions).
• Understanding of data architectures (OLTP, OLAP, Data Warehouse, Data Lake).
• Practical knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation.
• Experience working with Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of BPMN.
• Polish speaking – mandatory

Responsabilidades

• Capture, analyze, and document business requirements related to data, reporting and analytics initiatives.
• Co-manage the product backlog with the Product Owner and keep it aligned with business priorities.
• Refine epics and features into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Lead backlog refinement sessions and ensure Definition of Ready.
• Support prioritization by assessing value, dependencies, risks and effort.
• Act as the first point of contact for the dev team on functional questions.
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies and support acceptance of delivered functionality.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI Developers and stakeholders to define data requirements and KPIs.
• Analyze source systems, data flows and reporting processes to identify data requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and requirements clarification meetings.
• Contribute to specifications, process flows, data mapping and documentation.

Join a media organization that builds its products based on data and modern technologies. We are looking for a Data Business Analyst who will help bridge business needs with the capabilities of our data and analytics teams.

You will work alongside a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Data Engineers and BI Specialists, contributing to the development of analytical and reporting solutions used across the organization. Position – how you’ll contribute

• Capture, analyze, and document business requirements related to data, reporting and analytics initiatives
• Co-manage the product backlog together with the Product Owner, keeping it up to date, well-structured and aligned with business priorities
• Refine and break down epics and features into clear, estimable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
• Lead backlog refinement sessions and ensure backlog items meet the Definition of Ready before sprint planning
• Support prioritization decisions by assessing business value, dependencies, risks and effort together with the Product Owner and stakeholders
• Act as the first point of contact for the development team on functional questions and clarify scope during the sprint
• Participate in Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and support acceptance of delivered functionality
• Work closely with the Scrum Master to continuously improve team processes, collaboration and delivery practices, identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers and business stakeholders to define data requirements, KPI definitions and reporting needs
• Analyze source systems, data flows and reporting processes to identify business and data requirements
• Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions and requirement clarification meetings
• Contribute to functional specifications, process flows, data mapping and solution documentation

Expectations – the experience you need

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Proxy Product Owner or Product Owner in Data, BI, Analytics or Data Warehouse projects

• Product Owner certification (e.g. PSPO, CSPO)
• Familiarity with prioritization and planning techniques such as MoSCoW, WSJF or story mapping
• Experience using modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect, Visual Paradigm, draw.io, or similar
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple parallel requests/priorities
• Experience working with Snowflake
• Understanding of dimensional modeling concepts, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
• Experience defining KPIs, metrics and reporting solutions
