As the Business Process Optimization Director, AI Operations, you will establish and lead the Business Process Optimization function within Operations. You will be accountable for building the team, operating model, governance, and improvement portfolio needed to simplify, standardize, and stabilize our most critical operational processes before they are automated or augmented with AI. Reporting to the Head of AI Operations, you will set direction for a cross-Operations process optimization agenda, oversee team performance, and drive measurable improvements in cost, quality, cycle time, risk reduction, and AI readiness. The role is central to ensuring that Operations applies AI to the right problems, with the right process design, and with benefits that can be measured and sustained. This is a function-building leadership role in a regulated, client-critical environment. It combines people leadership, operational excellence, cross-functional stakeholder management, and disciplined change execution to make continuous improvement part of how Operations works every day.
Typically 10+ years of experience in process optimization, operational excellence, business transformation, service operations, or related disciplines, with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes in complex, multi-team environments. Proven people leadership experience, including building or scaling teams, defining roles and governance, managing performance, developing talent, and creating a strong culture of ownership and continuous improvement. Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional improvement portfolios where outcomes depend on influencing senior stakeholders, aligning resources, and driving sustained adoption across teams. Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from a recognized certifying body; additional project, change, or transformation certification is an advantage. Experience operating in regulated, client-critical, technology-enabled, or financial services environments. Exposure to AI, automation, analytics, or digital transformation programs, with a practical understanding of how process optimization enables successful AI adoption.
Ability to set direction for a function, translate strategy into an executable portfolio, and align teams around clear objectives and measurable outcomes. Strong people leadership capability, with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team while creating clarity, accountability, and collaboration. Strong senior stakeholder management, with the ability to influence decisions across functions where priorities, resources, and ownership may be contested. Ability to operate at portfolio level while staying sufficiently close to delivery detail to identify risks, remove blockers, and ensure benefits are realized. Ability to translate operational complexity into clear executive narratives, decision proposals, and measurable improvement plans. Strong command of Lean tools: 5S, A3, Kaizen, value stream mapping, standardized work, error proofing, takt/cycle time analysis. Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (Minitab, SigmaXL, or equivalent) and confidence interpreting data to drive decisions. Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and project management skills, with the ability to lead workshops and structured problem-solving sessions. Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, comfortable engaging from the shop floor to senior leadership.
Outcome-oriented leader who creates clarity in complex, ambiguous environments. Comfortable balancing strategic direction, team leadership, and hands-on problem-solving where needed. Builds trust across functions and can influence without relying solely on formal authority. Data-driven and commercially aware, with a strong focus on measurable business impact. Motivated by building sustainable capability, not only delivering individual projects. Confident operating in regulated, client-critical environments where quality, risk, and execution discipline matter.
