Job summary

Eaton is seeking an EMEA BidManager Interface & AI Specialist to develop interfaces, data models, and automation that connect BidManager with EPLAN and other platforms. You will own interoperability, create macros, and ensure scalable AI-driven specification analysis across EMEA.

You will work with business units, product managers, and IT to standardize interface requirements, validate data, and drive digital transformation that boosts engineering efficiency and sales productivity.

About The Role

The EMEA BidManager Interface & AI Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining the interfaces, data models, and automation capabilities that connect BidManager with external engineering and digital platforms, with a primary focus on EPLAN integration and AI‑driven specification analysis solutions. The role serves as the technical owner for BidManager‑to‑EPLAN interoperability, enabling automated generation of engineering outputs and complex macros from BidManager configurations.

In parallel, the role acts as the AI specialist supporting the Spec Reader initiative by defining AI rules, prompts, business logic, and data structures required to automate specification interpretation and proposal generation. Working closely with Business Units, Product Managers, Engineering teams, BidManager specialists, and IT teams, the specialist ensures scalable, reliable, and synchronized solutions that improve engineering efficiency, sales productivity, and digital transformation across EMEA.

What You’ll Do

• Own the development and maintenance of the ECC Translator framework connecting BidManager outputs with EPLAN and related engineering tools.
• Design and maintain data mappings, translation logic, and interface structures enabling automated transfer of configuration data between BidManager and EPLAN.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize complex EPLAN macros generated from BidManager configurations, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, product managers, and business units to define and standardize interface requirements supporting complete system design automation.
• Ensure synchronization and consistency of product, commercial, and technical data between BidManager, EPLAN, and related systems.
• Act as the AI Subject Matter Expert supporting the Spec Reader initiative through the development of prompts, AI rules, business logic, and validation methodologies.
• Define and maintain structured BidManager attributes, properties, and metadata required to support scalable AI‑powered specification interpretation.
• Partner with the BidManager team to establish data governance standards and ensure BidManager content is optimized for AI consumption and Spec Reader deployment.
• Design, test, and continuously improve prompt engineering strategies that increase the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of AI‑generated outputs.
• Support the implementation of AI models, validation frameworks, and feedback mechanisms to continuously improve Spec Reader performance.
• Define testing strategies, execute validation activities, and coordinate user acceptance testing for interface developments and AI solutions.
• Provide advanced technical support for integration, interface, and AI‑related issues, performing root cause analysis and coordinating corrective actions.
• Collaborate with IT, Digital, and Engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and enhanced user experiences across EMEA sales and engineering tools.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase digitalization, reduce manual effort, and improve proposal quality, engineering efficiency, and sales productivity.
• Acts as the subject matter expert for BidManager integrations, engineering automation, and AI‑enabled specification analysis.
• Takes ownership of assigned platforms, interfaces, and AI solutions while driving business value and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and/or Business, or equivalent knowledge
• Minimum 3 years in software/database development.

Skills

• Strong understanding of BidManager architecture, configuration logic, and data structures.
• Knowledge of EPLAN data structures, engineering automation concepts, and macro development.
• Understanding of ECC Translator frameworks and engineering data exchange methodologies.
• Experience with system integrations, APIs, middleware technologies, and data translation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of AI technologies, prompt engineering, large language models, and business rule design.
• Experience defining structured data models and metadata frameworks supporting AI solutions.
• Knowledge of CPQ, ERP, CRM, SAP, and digital sales platforms.
• Ability to analyze business and engineering requirements and translate them into scalable digital solutions.
• Experience with testing methodologies, data validation, and quality assurance processes.
