Job summary

The Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Wrocław invites applications for a Researcher position (R2) in biological sciences. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in biological/medical field or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of scientific research experience.
• Experience in planning and conducting bacteriophage biology research.
• Cell culture experience with various eukaryotic cells.
• Active involvement in publications with IF.
• Supervision of students/trainees.
• Experience in project planning and external grants.
• Involvement in science popularisation.
• Evidence of lead/corresponding author publications.

Responsibilities

• Biological, morphological and genomic characterisation of bacteriophages.
• Culturing cells and studying phage effects on growth/immunity.
• Investigating interactions of phages with mammalian cells.
• Analysing immunomodulatory properties of phages.
• Supervising students and interns.
• Applying for external research funding.
• Presenting findings at conferences.
• Preparing scientific publications.
