Job summary

Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy Polish Academy of Sciences is seeking a Researcher to perform biological, morphological and genomic characterisation of bacteriophages and to conduct cell culture studies assessing their impact on immunological activity.

The role includes supervising students, applying for external funding, presenting findings at conferences, and preparing scientific publications based on the research conducted.

Qualifications

• Master degree or equivalent in biology/related field as required.
• At least 5 years of scientific research experience.
• Evidence of lead author publications in JCR-listed journals (3+).
• Experience in planning and conducting bacteriophage biology research.
• Cell culture of various eukaryotic cells (including co-cultures).
• Active involvement in research projects and supervision of students.
• Demonstrated publication history and research presentations.
• Collaboration across academic institutions and knowledge dissemination.

Responsibilities

• Biological, morphological and genomic characterisation of bacteriophages.
• Conduct cell cultures and assess bacteriophage effects on growth and immunology.
• Study interactions of newly isolated bacteriophages with mammalian cells.
• Analyse immunomodulatory properties of bacteriophages.
• Supervise students and interns in research projects.
• Apply for external research funding and grants.
• Present findings at scientific conferences.
• Publish research results in scientific journals.
