Job summary

The Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy, Polish Academy of Sciences in Poland seeks a Researcher to advance bacteriophage biology, including characterisation, cell culture studies, and immunomodulatory analyses. Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in biological, medical or related field.
• At least 5 years’ experience in scientific research.
• 3 JCR-listed publications as lead author in bacteriophage biology.
• Experience with cell culture of various eukaryotic cells (including co-cultures).
• Active publication record with at least three original IF publications as lead/corresponding author.
• Involvement in research project planning and implementation.
• Supervision of students and/or trainees.
• Document research placements at multiple institutions.
• Active scientific collaborations and science popularisation.

Responsibilities

• Biological, morphological and genomic characterisation of bacteriophages.
• Conduct cell cultures, including co-cultures, and study bacteriophages’ effects on growth and immunological activity.
• Investigate interactions of newly isolated bacteriophages with mammalian cells.
• Analyse immunomodulatory properties of bacteriophages.
• Supervise students and interns.
• Apply for external research funding.
• Present findings at conferences.
• Prepare scientific publications based on the research.
