Zusammenfassung

Jit is seeking a backend engineer to join a mature, self-organised agile team responsible for customer-facing tracking products. The project consolidates tracking channels into a single entry point and scales event-driven APIs.

You will develop and maintain AWS-based back-end services and APIs, build serverless features with Lambda, SQS and EventBridge, and take part in code reviews and production troubleshooting.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of back-end development with Python or Scala.
• 2–3+ years hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, S3).
• Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases; data modelling and queries.
• Designing and developing RESTful APIs; testing, code reviews and Git workflows.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially CloudFormation.
• Strong communication in English; able to work independently and with a team.

Project

Join a mature, self-organised agile team responsible for customer-facing tracking products. The project focuses on consolidating tracking channels into a single customer entry point, introducing new customer notifications and scaling event-driven APIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end services and APIs on AWS.
• Build serverless and event-driven features using Lambda, SQS and EventBridge.
• Write clean, tested and maintainable code, and take part in code reviews.
• Work with product owners, front-end developers and architects to deliver features from start to finish.
• Help monitor, troubleshoot and improve services running in production.

Expected competences and knowledge

3+ years of back-end development experience with Python or Scala.

2–3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, EventBridge (including Pipes), DynamoDB and S3.

Practical experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. DynamoDB), including data modelling and query optimisation.

Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.

Knowledge of good coding practices, unit and integration testing, code reviews and version control (Git).

Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly CloudFormation.

Genuine interest in technology and architecture, with an openness to exploring and discussing different solutions.

Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Previous Scala experience is a plus. Alternatively, a Kotlin or Java background.
• Observability: Experience with CloudWatch, X-Ray or similar monitoring tools.
• Understanding of HL IT products and the container shipping business.
