Job summary

Jit Team in Poland is developing a large-scale, cloud-based software project for a leading logistics and e-commerce organization. As a Backend Engineer, you will join an international engineering team to build highly scalable and highly available applications that solve real-world problems for millions of users, including a new fintech initiative from early stages.

Required are 3+ years of backend experience, Python and Node.js skills, Kafka, REST, and React/Next.js familiarity, plus good

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial backend engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Python and Node.js.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous communication.
• Experience with React and/or Next.js.
• Good communication in English (min B2).
• Understanding of authorization flows, ledger and settlement processes.

Project

You will be involved in a large-scale, cloud-based software project for one of Poland's leading organizations in the logistics and e-commerce industry. As a Backend Engineer, you will work in an international engineering team focused on building highly scalable and highly available applications that solve real-world problems for millions of users. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and rapidly growing Polish business and contribute to the development of a new fintech initiative from its early stages.

Expected competences and knowledge

• 3+ years of commercial experience as a Backend Engineer
• Strong experience with Python and Node.js
• Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Kafka
• Good understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous communication
• Experience with React and/or Next.js
• Good communication skills in English (min. B2 level)
• Understanding of authorization flows, ledger and settlement processes

Experience with agile development methodologies

• Nice to have:
  • Knowledge of software security and compliance requirements, including PCI DSS and PSD2
  • Familiarity with KYC/KYB processes
  • Experience working in international and cross-functional engineering teams
