Job description

We’re looking for a talented Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Salesforce integration and package development to join our client’s team. In this role, you’ll design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems that seamlessly integrate with Salesforce, leveraging APIs to ensure reliable data flow and performance. You’ll also develop Salesforce packages to extend and customize platform capabilities, delivering tailored solutions that enhance business processes. Collaborating closely with the client’s cross-functional teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative backend features that make a real impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage seamless integration between Salesforce and external systems, including REST/SOAP APIs, and middleware
• Optimise backend processes to support high-volume data exchanges, ensuring data integrity and security
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing Salesforce integrations and packages, resolving issues promptly
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and industry standards
• Stay updated on Salesforce platform updates, API changes, and new features to leverage in development
• Participate in code reviews, system testing, and deployment activities as part of a multidisciplinary team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with solid understanding of Salesforce platform and customization
• Hands-on experience with Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk API)
• Experience in developing and managing Salesforce packages, including packaging, deployment, and version control
• Proficiency in server-side programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js. Familiarity with middleware, ETL tools, and data integration best practices
• Knowledge of Salesforce Lightning components, Apex, Visualforce, and Salesforce DX (DevOps tools)
• Understanding of data security, encryption, and GDPR compliance related to Salesforce integrations
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Will be a plus

• Certification in Salesforce Development (e.g., Salesforce Platform Developer I & II).
• Experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, or Einstein AI integrations.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes for Salesforce deployment (Salesforce DX, Jenkins, Git).
