Job summary

LotusFlare is seeking a Software Engineer for the Server Engineering team to build a scalable backend powering millions of API calls, collaborating with engineering and Mobile Operator to implement robust cloud-native services.

You should have strong Java/JVM and distributed systems experience, with a focus on security, performance, and reliable networking. Relocation to Krakow is supported under our hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience with Java/JVM, PHP, C++, Scala or Lua.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3+ years building secure, scalable web services.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Experience with RESTful services.
• Good understanding of network stack and HTTP.
• Experience with concurrency, multithreading, or asynchronous programming.
• Data modeling in SQL and/or NoSQL.
• Experience with AWS, Redis, Kafka and Cassandra would be a plus.

Summary

As a Software Engineer within our Server Engineering team, you will work collaboratively with the engineering team as well as the Mobile Operator to help build a network stack to support millions of users. You come from a system or development background (or are comfortable in both areas). You are self-directed and have the ability to track solutions from design through implementation, owning every step along the way. We strive for a deep understanding of the core technologies that are being used while building redundancy and establishing best practices.

Responsibilities

We've developed a platform that integrates with mobile client side library and apps along with mobile network carrier systems. The Server Engineer would be responsible for further developing, securing, and scaling the backend infrastructure to support the platform in order to handle millions of concurrent API calls.

Please note the following

• We are looking for developers that be willing to switch to our tech stack Scala/Lua from any other Back-End language.
• We are only considering candidates who are currently in Krakow or willing to relocate there.

Requirements

• 3+ years of work experience, including programming experience in Java/ any JVM language / PHP / C++ / Scala/ Lua
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field is a must
• 3+ years of experience building secure scalable web services
• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience with RESTful services
• Good understanding of network stack and HTTP protocol
• Experience with concurrency, multithreading, or asynchronous programming
• Understanding of data modeling in SQL and/or NoSQL environment
• Experience with (any combination of) AWS, Redis, Kafka and Cassandra would be a plus
