Job summary

Corning Incorporated, based in Poland, seeks an Automation System Engineers Team Supervisor to lead the System Engineers team within Automation, delivering automation concepts aligned with manufacturing needs.

The role interfaces with internal customers, ensuring alignment on scope, requirements, roadmaps, and handovers of automation setups to manufacturing, reporting to the Automation Manager and collaborating with Mechanical Design and Controls/Software teams.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the System Engineers team in delivering automation concepts and solutions.
  • Define and own the roadmap for the team’s automation projects.
  • Align with Process Technology, Plant, Manufacturing, Operations, and DE on scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Define and coordinate technical solutions across mechanical design, software development, and controls design.
  • Ensure clear handover and release-to-manufacturing plans for automation setups.
  • Provide technical leadership in workstreams to secure delivery of quality solutions.
  • Cooperate closely with the Automation Manager and other Automation leaders to ensure cross-functional alignment.

Role Purpose

The Automation System Engineers Team Supervisor leads the System Engineers team within Automation, ensuring development of automation concepts and technical solutions aligned with manufacturing needs. The role acts as a key interface between the Automation Team and internal customers, securing alignment on scope, requirements, roadmaps, and handovers of automation setups to manufacturing.

The position reports to the Automation Manager, who ensures alignment of this role with other Automation leadership functions, including Mechanical Design Team and Controls / Software Development Team.

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Experience in leading projects in automation, system engineering, or related technical functions in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of automation solutions, including integration of mechanical, software, and controls disciplines.
  • Experience in leading teams or coordinating cross‑functional technical work.
  • Ability to define project roadmaps, manage priorities, and align multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with internal customers and technical teams.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to balance technical detail and organizational needs.
