Job summary

Balyasny Asset Management in Warsaw is seeking an IT Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated IT systems across cloud, virtualization, and on-prem environments.

You will develop scripts, use Ansible and Terraform, and collaborate across ICT teams to ensure reliable, scalable operations and strong security practices.

Qualifications

• Design, implement and maintain automated IT systems and tools.

Job description

Knowledge:

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell or Bash
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
• Experience with Infrastructure automatization tools such as Terraform or VMware ARIA Automation
• Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms (such as VMware vSphere) and Cloud platforms (such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux Red Hat configuration and automatization
• Experience in collaborating with multiple support groups
• Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes

Typical tasks and responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems and tools to support various IT operations, including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, deployment, and incident response (products including VMware, Azure/AWS/Google Cloud, Windows Server and Linux Red Hat)
• Analysing existing IT processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement, proposing and developing automation strategies to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance scalability
• Writing scripts and developing code using programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to automate routine tasks, data processing, and system integration
• Utilizing configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Terraform, VMware ARIA Automation) to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of IT infrastructure components
• Recommending and implementing IT best practices
• Implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures
• Providing 2nd line support to other IT teams and coordinating with 3rd line of support
• Updating the technical documentation and operating procedures
• Evaluating and implementing IT security standards
