Job summary

Varonis is seeking an MDR Security Engineer to own and scale automation for our global MDR platform. You will build production-grade automation, reduce manual workload, and improve incident response across a high-volume SOC environment.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on SOAR experience, strong scripting skills, and a collaborative mindset to drive measurable improvements in detection quality and operator productivity.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Security Operations, MDR, IR or Security Engineering.
• 2–3+ years hands-on with SOAR platforms and security automation.
• Experience owning and operating automation workflows in a SOC/MDR environment.
• Strong understanding of SOC operations, alert triage, escalation workflows, and incident response.
• Proficient with Python/PowerShell/Bash and building APIs/integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and deploying automation at scale.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the lifecycle of SOAR playbooks, workflows, and integrations.
• Build and operate production-grade automation supporting alert triage and response.
• Define automation strategy for high-impact SOC processes and scale them.
• Develop integrations across SIEM, EDR/XDR, identity, cloud, and ticketing systems.
• Collaborate with MDR analysts, IR, threat hunters, and engineering to automate workflows.
• Improve detection/response quality through automated enrichment and containment.
• Contribute to RCAs by delivering tooling to speed investigation and accuracy.
• Evaluate new automation capabilities, including AI-assisted workflows.
