- • Support Amentum’s Integrated Delivery Solutions team in delivering structural design and engineering solutions for design and construction projects across highly regulated sectors
- • Perform structural analysis and design for steel and reinforced concrete, with contributions to timber and masonry design where applicable
- • Develop and own calculation packages, basis‑of‑design documents, design reports, general arrangement and detail drawings, and specifications
- • Apply relevant EN Eurocodes, BS standards, UK National Annexes, client governance, and applicable US codes
- • Conduct global and local static, dynamic, stability, fatigue, robustness, and progressive‑collapse analyses as applicable
- • Review and validate structural models and assumptions
- • Improve design quality, constructability, and whole‑life performance through engineering best practices, lessons learned, and value engineering
- • Coordinate with Architecture, Civil, Geotechnical, MEP, Fire, Safety, and Construction teams
- • Review and check colleagues’ work and mentor less experienced engineers
- • Provide site/field engineering support, including RFI responses, non‑conformance dispositions, as‑built reviews, and temporary works assessments
- • Maintain QA/QC, calculation files, design records, document control, and IDS governance compliance
- • Collaborate within BIM‑enabled workflows using Revit, Tekla, and Navisworks
- • Review and coordinate structural BIM models and apply BIM principles in design development
- • Support modelling standards, CDE workflows, clash resolution, and digital delivery coordination where applicable
Requirements
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (MSc/MEng preferred)
- Chartered (e.g., CEng MICE/MIStructE) or actively working toward chartership
- Significant experience (6+ years) delivering structural engineering design in highly regulated sectors
- Demonstrated experience with Eurocodes (EN 1990–1999) and relevant BS standards
- Familiarity with UK National Annexes and client governance (e.g., DIO) is advantageous
- Familiarity with US codes (e.g., AISC, ACI 318, ASCE 7, IBC) is an advantage
- Practical understanding of BIM workflows
- Proficiency with structural tools such as Robot, ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, Revit, Tekla Structures, IDEA StatiCa, or equivalents
- Proficiency in structural analysis and finite element modelling (linear/nonlinear, stability, dynamic)
- Experience preparing calculation packages suitable for independent check
- Experience across design lifecycle stages, from concept to detailed design
- Familiarity with RIBA stages is a plus
- Experience supporting construction/field engineering
- BIM coordination exposure and collaboration within CDEs
- Ability to interpret and mark up GA/detail drawings and models
- Experience must reflect engineering analysis/design responsibilities, not solely site execution or maintenance
- Fluent English (B2 or higher) and Polish (spoken and written)
- Ability to interpret, review, and coordinate BIM models
- Experience or education in BIM workflows, clash detection, and model‑based coordination is an advantage
