Job summary

Hunter Douglas Europe is seeking an ambitious Associate Controller to join our Poland finance organisation in Zabrze, with occasional travel to Warsaw. The role supports multiple Polish entities and focuses on Record‑to‑Report, financial close, reporting quality, and coordination with shared services and external providers.

With 2–3 years of experience, you will gain exposure to multi‑entity operations and end‑to‑end finance processes, with clear progression toward a future Controller position.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in accounting, audit, R2R or finance operations.
• Strong month‑end close, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Experience in a multinational environment preferred.
• Solid understanding of Polish GAAP, VAT and CIT regulations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support month‑end close across Polish entities, including accruals, journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Maintain high‑quality balance sheet control and investigate variances.
• Coordinate with Genpact GBS on PTP and OTC processes, ensuring timely issue resolution.
• Support statutory reporting, audit and compliance activities in Poland.
• Strengthen documentation, controls and reporting discipline across entities.
• Identify and drive process improvements in collaboration with the Poland Controller.

Location: The role will be covering a number of our Poland offices. Although the role is based in Zabrze there would be some travel to Warsaw around twice per month dependent on Business needs.

About the role

Hunter Douglas is looking for an ambitious Associate Controller to join our Poland finance organisation, supporting multiple legal entities within an international environment.

This is a hands‑on development role for a finance professional with 2–3 years of experience who is looking to build strong controllership capability and progress toward a future Controller position.

You will support the Poland Controller with a focus on Record‑to‑Report (R2R), financial close, reporting quality, and coordination with shared services and external providers. The role offers exposure to multi‑entity operations and end‑to‑end finance processes, with clear progression potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support month‑end close across Polish entities, including accruals, journals, reconciliations, and reporting
• Maintain high‑quality balance sheet control and investigate variances
• Contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting in line with group requirements
• Coordinate with Genpact GBS on PTP and OTC processes, ensuring timely issue resolution
• Support statutory reporting, audit, and compliance activities in Poland
• Strengthen documentation, controls, and reporting discipline across entities
• Identify and drive process improvements in collaboration with the Poland Controller

Candidate Profile

• 2–3 years’ experience in accounting, audit, R2R or finance operations
• Strong understanding of month‑end close, accruals, and reconciliations
• Experience in a multinational environment preferred
• Exposure to multiple legal entities is advantageous
• ERP experience (Comarch preferred) and strong Excel skills
• Fluent in Polish and English
• Detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Motivated to grow toward a broader controllership role
• Solid understanding of Polish GAAP, VAT and CIT regulations is considered a significant asset
