Offer Description

The person selected through the competition will be employed at the Department of Mechanics and Machine Design as an assistant professor, in the group of research and teaching staff. His/her activities will cover three areas:

Teaching - conducting classes such as exercises, projects, laboratory for selected subjects, mainly in the fields of mechanical engineering, mechatronics and industrial design, including classes conducted in English and as part-time studies. The obligatory classes: 240 didactic hours per academic year.

Science - active involvement in research work carried out by current employees of the Department and participation in publishing the results of this research in materials scored primarily in the discipline of mechanical engineering. Active participation in activities aimed at obtaining additional funds for science, i.e. writing applications for external research projects or cooperation with industry.

Organization - co-implementation of tasks related to ensuring the proper functioning of the Department and Faculty and participation in activities promoting fields of study and popularizing knowledge.

Qualifications
  • at least a PhD degree in mechanical engineering;
  • appropriate knowledge to conduct research in the field of mechanical engineering, with particular emphasis on fatigue damage to materials and structures; must be able to formulate scientific theses, describe the results obtained, prepare scientific articles and deliver presentations in Polish and English;
  • appropriate knowledge for teaching and skills for conducting lectures, exercises, projects and laboratory classes for subjects covering mechanical design, mechanics, material strength, design documentation and numerical analysis of structures with students, particularly those studying mechanical engineering, mechatronics and industrial design;
  • ability to conduct courses in Polish on CAD design (advanced knowledge of software) and numerical analysis of FEM structures, as well as the ability to use programming languages (e.g. Python, MATLAB) in the analysis and visualization of technical data and numerical simulation results.
