  • Ph.D. must be completed by the start date of the postdoctoral position.
  • Practical knowledge of measurement techniques for photonic structures, devices, and systems operating in the near- and mid-infrared spectral ranges.
  • Experience in design, development, and testing of optical communication components and systems.
  • Practical knowledge of waveguide circuits and integrated photonic systems.

The Optoelectronics Division of the Institute of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics, Warsaw University of Technology is looking for a candidate for the position of Post-Doc to implement the project entitled: "Photonics Integrated Circuits for Free Space Optical Communications (FSOC)" (Acronym FSOC) (FENG.01.01-IP.01-A0MR/24-00).

Scope of Responsibilities
  • Design, development, construction and testing of components and systems parameters for optical communication in free space.
  • Development of measurement systems, data acquisition, development of measurement results.
  • Preparation of presentations, reports, scientific publications, conference presentations.
  • Preparation of technical specifications for purchases of materials and equipment.

Skills/Qualifications

  • completed higher education with a master’s degree or equivalent;
  • having a doctoral degree;
  • very good command of English;
  • scientific profile related to the specialization of the Division.
Specific Requirements
  • knowledge of optical communication systems, including free-space optical (FSO) communication;
  • experience in the design, development, and testing of optical communication components and systems (experience with free-space optical communication systems will be considered an additional advantage);
  • practical knowledge of measurement techniques for photonic structures, devices, and systems operating in the near- and mid-infrared spectral ranges;
  • practical knowledge of the design and characterization of waveguide circuits and integrated photonic systems (experience in the design of specialized ASPICs using generic photonic integration technologies will be considered an additional advantage).
