The position of Assistant Professor involves conducting research and teaching activities related to the medical programme. The successful candidate is expected to have a medical background and specialist qualifications in thoracic surgery. The person employed in this position will be responsible for teaching classes in thoracic surgery, conducting scientific research, and supporting students in the development of their practical skills.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates are required to:
  • hold a medical degree,
  • hold a valid licence to practise medicine,
  • hold a PhD degree and a habilitation degree in medical sciences,
  • hold a specialist qualification in cardiology,
  • have experience in teaching students and conducting scientific research,

have a very good command of Polish and English, both spoken and written.

All the above requirements must be met by the application deadline.

The date and time of receipt of the application documents shall determine whether the application has been submitted on time. Receipt of documents submitted electronically will be confirmed by the HR Assistant by return e-mail sent to the address from which the application was submitted.

Applications will be evaluated by a selection committee appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Magdalena Krajewska.

A person employed under an employment contract with another employer conducting research, research and teaching, research and development or implementation activities, for whom Wrocław University of Science and Technology would constitute the primary place of employment, is required, pursuant to Article 125 of the Polish Law on Higher Education and Science, to obtain the Rector's consent for additional employment under an employment contract with another employer after commencing employment at Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

In the case of conducting business activity, the requirements specified in Article 125(7) of the Act must also be fulfilled.

After completion of the recruitment procedure, application documents submitted by post by candidates who have not been selected will be destroyed. Candidates may collect their documents from the HR Assistant within 6 months after the completion of the recruitment procedure, against confirmation of receipt.
