Job summary
RIGOL Technologies EU GmbH is seeking an Application Engineer to serve Europe in one specialization track. You will bridge advanced instruments with customer challenges, delivering technical support, demonstrations, and tailored measurement solutions across markets.
The role requires 3–5 years in application engineering or technical sales in test & measurement, RF/microwave, or electronics. Travel across Europe (~30–40%) is expected, with English as a primary working language.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics, RF Engineering, Communications Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in an application engineering, field applications, or technical sales engineering role within the test & measurement, semiconductor, electronics, or RF/microwave industry.
Responsibilities
- Technical Application Support: provide pre- and post-sales technical support across Europe within your specialization and deliver demonstrations and proof-of-concept setups.
- Training & Enablement: conduct technical trainings, webinars, and develop application notes and demo scripts.
- Sales & Business Development Support: work with regional sales teams to identify opportunities and assist in proposals and tenders.
- Product Feedback & Collaboration: collect customer feedback and participate in beta testing and cross‑team collaboration.
- Reporting & Documentation: maintain records in CRM and report market trends and customer requirements.

Technical Application Support
Provide expert-level pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, distributors, and channel partners across Europe within your specific area of specializationAnalyze complex customer measurement requirements and recommend the most suitable RIGOL instrumentation solutionsDeliver compelling technical product demonstrations, proof-of-concept setups, and hands-on evaluations tailored to your focus area: If High-Speed Digital: Signal integrity measurements, eye diagram analysis, protocol decode, compliance test setups for DDR, PCIe, USB, MIPI, Ethernet If RF & Microwave: Spectrum and signal analysis, phase noise measurements, EMI pre-compliance setups, wireless protocol testing (5G, LTE, BT, WiFi) If Component Test: LCR meter applications, impedance spectroscopy, semiconductor device characterization, power component analysis and evaluationSupport customers in setting up test environments and measurement workflows using RIGOL instruments

Training & Enablement
Conduct technical training sessions, webinars, workshops, and seminars for customers, distributors, and internal sales teams within your domainCreate and deliver high-quality application notes, white papers, technical guides, and demo scriptsDevelop and maintain a library of application-specific measurement solutions and best practices

Sales & Business Development Support
Work closely with the Channel Partner Manager and regional sales teams to identify and develop new business opportunitiesParticipate in customer visits, trade shows, exhibitions, and industry conferences throughout Europe (e.g., electronica, embedded world, SMTconnect)Support the sales team in responding to complex RFQs, tenders, and technical proposalsAct as a trusted technical advisor to key accounts and strategic partners

Product Feedback & Collaboration
Collect and consolidate technical feedback from customers and partners and relay it to RIGOL's global product management and R&D teamsParticipate in beta testing and evaluation of new RIGOL products prior to market launchCollaborate with the global application engineering team to share knowledge and develop pan-European application strategies

Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of technical support activities, customer interactions, and application projects in the CRM systemProvide regular reports on market trends, competitive landscape, and customer requirements to management
Education & Experience

Core Requirement: Deep Expertise in ONE Specialization
You do not need experience in all three areas. Strong, demonstrable expertise in just one of the following tracks is exactly what we are looking for:
- Track 1 — High-Speed Digital (apply if this is your strength)Solid understanding of signal integrity principles, transmission line theory, and high-speed digital designHands-on experience with oscilloscope-based compliance testing (DDR3/4/5, PCIe Gen 3/4/5, USB 3.x, MIPI CSI/DSI, 10/25/100GbE)Familiarity with relevant industry standards: JEDEC, PCI-SIG, USB-IF, IEEE 802.3
- Track 2 — RF & Microwave (apply if this is your strength)Strong foundation in RF/microwave theory, antenna systems, and wireless communication standardsHands-on experience with spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector signal analyzers, or VNAsKnowledge of wireless standards and test methodologies: 5G NR, LTE, Bluetooth, WiFi 6/6E, EMC/EMI (CISPR, EN 55032)
- Track 3 — Component & Device Test (apply if this is your strength)Solid understanding of passive and active component behavior, impedance characteristics, and semiconductor physicsHands-on experience with LCR meters, impedance analyzers, curve tracers, or source-measure units (SMUs)Familiarity with component characterization standards and power device test methodologies (IEC, JEDEC)
- Practical experience working with professional test & measurement equipment
- Familiarity with automation and scripting for test setups (Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, SCPI) is a strong advantage
- Proficiency in technical documentation and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible content for varied audiences
- Strong customer orientation with excellent presentation and communication skills – equally comfortable in a lab and in front of an audience
- Self-motivated, structured, and solution-driven with a hands-on mentality
- High degree of intercultural competence and experience working with international teams and customers
- Willingness to travel within Europe (approx. 30-40%)
- Language Skills: English – fluent / business proficient (C1/C2) (primary working language)
- German – good working knowledge (B2 or above) preferredAdditional European languages are a plus
