Speechify, a distributed company, is seeking an Android Team Lead to own core product work and raise how the team works around it. This is a hands-on role, including writing and reviewing code, owning features, and delivering high-quality Android experiences across apps.

We value strong Kotlin expertise, leadership with hands-on execution, and the ability to guide junior engineers while shipping reliable, user-centered software in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with leadership or ownership while staying hands-on.
• Kotlin proficiency with Coroutines, Flow, Dagger 2 and MVVM.
• Experience shipping and maintaining long-running background audio.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from design to release.
• Maintain reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team when blockers arise and drive progress.
• Ensure code is maintainable and ready for handoffs to others.
