Job summary

Xebia in Poland is seeking an experienced Android developer to join our automotive-focused initiative. You will design and build native Android apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android tech, collaborating with backend engineers and client's product teams to deliver scalable, user-centric solutions.

Ideal candidates have mid-level Android experience, strong Kotlin/Compose skills, and hands-on API integration with REST (Retrofit preferred).

Qualifications

• At least mid-level Android development experience.
• Fluent knowledge of Kotlin and strong Jetpack Compose experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Coroutines.
• Advanced knowledge of the Android SDK and native Android development.
• Hands-on experience integrating apps with REST APIs, preferably using Retrofit.
• Practical knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures.
• Experience with Gradle build processes and Continuous Integration (CI) systems.
• High level of independence in organizing your work and solving technical problems effectively.
• English at least at B2 level.
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing Android solutions for the automotive vertical as part of a strategic initiative transforming a general-purpose marketplace into specialized shops within a shop.
• Building and maintaining high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android technologies.
• Working closely with backend engineers and the Client’s product teams to deliver scalable and user-focused solutions.
• Integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and collaborating across teams to deliver end-to-end functionality.
• Using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, or other agentic coding tools as part of daily development workflow.
• Contributing to technical decisions and independently solving development challenges.
• Working with modern build and CI processes to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

You will be:

Your profile:

• at least mid-level professional experience in Android development,
• fluent knowledge of Kotlin and strong experience with Jetpack Compose,
• advanced knowledge of Coroutines,
• advanced knowledge of the Android SDK and native Android application development,
• hands-on experience integrating applications with REST APIs, preferably using Retrofit,
• practical knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and data structures,
• experience with Gradle build processes and Continuous Integration (CI) systems,
• high level of independence in organizing your work and solving technical problems effectively,
• English at least at B2 level,
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:

• experience working with RxJava,
• experience developing and maintaining large and complex codebases,
• practical experience using AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
