Offer Description

An assistant in a group of research and teaching staff in the discipline of architecture and urban planning (full-time employment) in West Pomeranian University of Technology, Szczecin, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Contemporary Architecture, Design Theory and Methodology.

The candidate should meet the requirements specified in Articles 113 and 116 of the Law on higher education and science (Prawo o szkolnictwie wyższym i nauce) of 20 July 2018(consolidated text – Journal of Laws of 2023, position 742)and in the Statute of West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.

The candidate is offered the opportunity for professional development, participation in scientific projects, possibility of international cooperation.

The range of responsibilities shall include the following:

  • Teaching duties: conducting assigned classes in the amount of at least 240 hours per academic year, including mainly design classes in full-time and part-time studies, in the field of landscape architecture and computer-aided design, ensuring a high level of expertise and good contact with students;
  • Research duties: conducting of scientific research in the discipline of architecture and urban planning and disseminating its results, in particular through publishing scientific articles and actively participating in academic conferences; applying for research grants and scientific fellowships; participating in the implementation of research projects; organizing and managing one's own academic development;
  • Organisational duties for the benefit of the department and the faculty involving additional time and workload.

Skills/Qualifications

Qualification requirements :

  • Master's degree in architecture or master's degree in landscape architecture;
  • Author or co-author of at least 2 scientific publications in the field of architecture and urban planning, published or accepted for publication in journals listed by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Poland (MNiSW), with a total score of at least 70 points per author;
  • Teaching experience (preferably at university level), additionally: achievements in teaching and in the popularization of science, optionally: internships completed at scientific or industrial institutions;
  • Professional experience in architectural design or landscape design, green areas and public spaces, or in computer-aided architectural design;
  • Proficiency in transferring knowledge, skills and social competences;
  • Proficient skills in use of computer programs supporting design (CAD, PHOTOSHOP and similar environments), with particular emphasis on the use of software supporting landscape architecture design (confirmed by achievements or certificates);
  • Fluent knowledge of Polish and English, spoken and written;
  • Design experience and possession of architectural permission to design or a proven track record in landscape architecture design will be an additional advantage.
