Job summary

OLX is seeking an AI-native Staff Backend Engineer to scale our platforms from Poland and beyond. You will architect AI agent context pipelines, define task specifications, guide code reviews, and drive migration from a legacy monolith to microservices, ensuring reliable, testable outcomes.

Fluent in Golang, Java/Kotlin and PHP, with deep distributed-systems experience, you will collaborate with product and leadership, mentor engineers, and design robust REST/GraphQL contracts.

Qualifications

• Strong ownership and accountability in engineering lead roles.
• Experience shaping AI-assisted architectures and large-scale systems.
• Proficiency with Golang/Java/Kotlin and PHP for backend services.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineering, product, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect context pipelines for AI agents and define acceptance criteria for tasks.
• Design and maintain agent-ready systems with test suites and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor engineers, lead by example, and influence tech direction across teams.
• Guide migration from monolith to microservices with bounded contexts.
• Define API contracts (REST/GraphQL) and database schemas.
