Job summary

NordHR is seeking an AI Gateway Engineer in Gdańsk (hybrid) to design, build and operate scalable AI gateway capabilities within an enterprise API platform. You will implement secure patterns for LLM access and A2A integrations, and automate infrastructure with Terraform while enhancing CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and operating API platforms and gateways in enterprise environments.
• Experience with gateway platforms like Kong, IBM API Connect/DataPower, or cloud-native gateways.
• Solid knowledge of Terraform and IaC practices.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Helm for deploying gateway components.
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control, and automated releases.
• Proficiency in Python and Lua for Kong plugins.
• Experience with IdP integration, authentication and access control patterns.
• Experience setting up logging, monitoring, and alerting with observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate AI Gateway capabilities based on API platform practices.
• Implement secure gateway patterns for LLM access, MCP servers, and A2A integrations.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and automate gateway provisioning.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and release practices for gateway configurations.
• Set up and automate gateway policies for consistent, governed access.
• Create Kong plugins using Lua and Python for custom capabilities.
• Integrate AI Gateway with enterprise identity providers and auth controls.
• Set up logging, monitoring and alerting including Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Establish FinOps for gateway usage with cost visibility and guardrails.
• Assist onboarding of new use cases and contribute to platform docs and templates.
