Job summary

LocalStack, the Local Cloud Sandbox for developers and AI agents, is growing rapidly and embracing a remote-first model. We seek a senior engineer/operational leader to embed AI across teams, build internal tools, and drive measurable adoption that reduces friction and cost.

You will collaborate with engineering, GTM, security, and ops to scale our AI capabilities and protect data while delivering business value.

Qualifications

• 7+ years total experience as a software engineer or in a related leadership/consulting/product/operations role in a B2B SaaS startup/scale-up.
• Strong track record working with cross-functional stakeholders to drive adoption and business value.
• Experience using Codex, Claude Code, or similar to ship working solutions.
• Broad understanding of AI technologies (LLMs vs ML) and relevant patterns.
• Proficient in Python/TypeScript; familiar with MCP/agent-tooling patterns, evals, reliability and cost/token awareness.
• Familiar with Git version control and GitHub/GitLab workflows.
• Strong process-design instincts to map workflows and scale solutions.
• Good strategic/commercial awareness; can articulate business value of deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Embed across Engineering, GTM, People, Support, Finance, and Ops to identify where AI can remove operational friction and automate workflows.
• Build internal tools and agents end-to-end, connecting the current tech stack to daily employee workflows.
• Drive adoption through workshops, pairing, and office hours; measure success by usage and time saved, not features shipped.
• Partner with Security to establish guardrails, access scoping, and audit trails protecting data.
• Develop and use a framework to track the value of AI solutions with key metrics and targets.
