Job summary

Monterail in Wrocław, Poland is seeking a Backend / AI Developer - Freelancer for a full-time, on-site role to join an enterprise AI transformation project.

You will integrate data from multiple sources, build AI agents, develop MCP servers, and design backend APIs, with a focus on data quality, observability and collaboration with client teams. Proficiency in Python, FastAPI and PostgreSQL is essential, along with Docker and experience with LLM-driven workflows.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial experience (approx. 2 years) in backend development with Python.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or a comparable modern web framework.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL: schema design, query writing, and optimization.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Understanding of ETL and data synchronization concepts.

Responsibilities

• Integrate data from multiple sources into a single data layer.
• Build and deploy AI agents that execute business tasks.
• Develop MCP servers exposing data to agents and tools.
• Do data engineering: ETL, synchronization, data quality.
• Design backend APIs connecting the data layer with agents and front-end apps.
• Maintain infrastructure: containers, databases, monitoring.
