Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Data Engineer to join our AI and Enterprise Platforms team. You will design and build enterprise-grade data solutions at the intersection of data engineering, generative AI, and agent-based systems, using cloud platforms and AI services.

You'll work with AWS/Azure and quickly transition to GCP Vertex AI, developing data pipelines, managing data quality, and enabling AI workloads for clients. The role emphasizes hands-on engineering and practical LLM experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on SQL and analytical data stores.
• Understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data governance.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Familiar with tool/function calling.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and generative AI in real projects.
• Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP and cloud-native data services.

Data Engineer - Agentic AI & Enterprise Platforms

Your Team

We are looking for a Data / AI Engineer who wants to work at the intersection of data engineering, generative AI, and agent-based systems. In this role, you will design and build enterprise-grade AI solutions using AI agents, large language models, and data platforms, helping customers translate AI capabilities into real business value. You do not need to be a Google Cloud expert from day one. We are looking for strong core engineering and data fundamentals and experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) with the ability to quickly transition to GCP services including Vertex AI.

Your Tasks

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and operate cloud-based data pipelines and data platforms for analytics and downstream use cases
• Ingest, transform, and manage structured and unstructured enterprise data, ensuring data quality, reliability, and governance
• Prepare and expose data for AI and generative AI workloads, including retrieval and feature-ready datasets
• Collaborate with AI teams to build data-driven AI solutions using Vertex AI and Gemini Enterprise
• Work with customers to translate business data requirements into scalable, enterprise-ready architectures

Your Profile

• Strong experience in Data Engineering
• Solid knowledge of Python
• Experience designing and operating data pipelines
• Hands-on work with SQL and analytical data stores.
• Understanding of data modeling, data quality, and data governance
• Understanding of:
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Tool / function calling
• Agent concepts (reasoning, planning, actions, memory)
• Practical experience with LLMs and generative AI, not only experimentation
• Cloud & Platform Experience - Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with cloud-native concepts particularly in Data Engineering related services
