METRO Global Solution Center PL in Szczecin is seeking a Fixed Assets Accountant to manage daily and monthly fixed assets transactions, including capitalization, transfers, and disposals. You will perform reconciliations and support month-end closing, while ensuring accurate asset records and compliance with policies.

The role offers relocation support to Szczecin, a location with opportunities for professional growth and training in accounting software (SAP) and process automation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Fixed Assets Accounting is preferred.
• Strong analytical abilities and good Excel knowledge.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP is an advantage.
• Ability to adapt to changing environment and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Process daily and monthly Fixed Assets accounting transactions (acquisitions, capitalization, transfers, disposals).
• Perform fixed asset reconciliations and ensure accuracy of asset records.
• Post depreciation, impairment and related adjustments as applicable.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and prepare fixed asset reports.
• Conduct regular accounting controls to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Assist audits with explanations and supporting documentation.
• Support process improvements, standardization, and automation in Fixed Assets.
• Collaborate with METRO Group entities to ensure timely service delivery.
• Maintain and update SOPs and process documentation.
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities.

Job description

• Process daily and monthly Fixed Assets Accounting transactions, including acquisitions, capitalization, transfers, disposals, and retirements
• Perform fixed asset reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of asset records.
• Calculate and post depreciation, impairment, and other fixed asset-related adjustments, where applicable
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparation and validation of fixed asset reports
• Perform regular accounting checks and controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
• Investigate discrepancies and provide explanations and supporting documentation to internal and external auditors
• Support process improvement, standardization, automation, and transition projects within the Fixed Assets area
• Cooperate with internal stakeholders and METRO Group entities to ensure high-quality and timely service delivery
• Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation
• Participate in training and knowledge-sharing activities and support an effective backup structure within the team

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Accounting, preferably in Fixed Assets Accounting
• Experience in Controlling or financial analysis will be an advantage
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems will be an advantage
• Strong analytical skills and good knowledge of MS Excel
• Knowledge of fixed asset accounting processes, including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals
• Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a changing environment
• Goal-oriented approach and strong attention to detail
