Job summary

Kingfisher plc in Kraków is seeking an accountant focused on Fixed Assets. The role involves processing asset transactions, maintaining capital projects, and performing journal entries, with month-end closes and regular reporting.

You will interact with clients, ensure controls over financial reporting, and support audits. Applicants should have a university degree in accounting or finance, at least two years in accounting, strong English and Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP is a plus.

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting or finance or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting/fixed assets experience.
• Fluent English (B2) in speaking and writing.
• Strong Excel skills and numerical accuracy.
• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Processing transactions on Fixed Assets - capitalizations, transfers, disposals, depreciation.
• Capital projects maintenance and monitoring.
• Performing journal entry processing.
• Reconciling GL accounts, resolving items/balances.
• Ensuring month-end closing processes are accurate; preparing reports.
• Communicating with clients; handling queries timely.
• Ensuring controls over financial reporting are effective and policy-compliant.
• Supporting audits as required.
• Ensuring KPIs and SLAs are met.
• Performing other tasks as assigned by Team Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Processing transactions on Fixed Assets- capitalizations, transfers, disposals, running depreciation
• Capital projects maintaining and monitoring
• Performing journal entry processing
• Reconciling dedicated GL accounts, explaining and resolving unrecognized items / balances
• Ensuring month-end processes are completed accurately and according to month and year end closing schedulePreparing regular and ad hoc reports
• Communicating with clients on a regular basis, ensuring timely and accurate responses to any client queries
• Ensuring operational and design effectiveness of the controls over financial reporting within areas of responsibility
• Ensuring proper company policies are being followed
• Supporting audit as required
• Ensuring that developed KPIs and SLAs are continuously met
• Performing other related tasks assigned by Team Manager

Qualifications:

• Relevant University degree (Accounting or Finance preferred) or equivalent education
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in accounting, fixed assets area
• Very good spoken & written English (B2)
• Very good MS Excel knowledge
• Analytical skills and good problem solving (attention to details)
• Being able to work within tight operational deadlines and priorities
• Good problem-solving skills and cooperation attitude
• Knowledge of SAP accounting system (considered an asset)
