Job description

Luxembourg is the European Headquarters for John Deere Financial. The Holdings Division of John Deere Financial is responsible for managing the investment and ownership structure of John Deere’s financial entities and ensuring strategic alignment across regions. This includes overseeing governance, compliance, and financial performance of subsidiaries within Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The division operates from its central office in Luxembourg, providing coordination and support to local entities in our core markets. We have the following opportunity in our Holding Team:

What You’ll Do

As an Accountant in Holdings, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision‑making for multiple entities. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Take an active role in the production of monthly US GAAP actuals, forecasts, and annual budgets, as well as local GAAPs for several entities
  • Book accounting entries such as SG&A, administration expenses, accruals, prepayments, loans, VAT, equities, etc.
  • Prepare reconciliation of general ledger account balances; review and assist in financial information, such as Trial Balances and ad‑hoc analysis
  • Report on US Exhibits to International Accounting (Exhibits, ad‑hoc requests)
  • Assist in all day‑to‑day operations of the Accounting Department, seeking guidance for more complex transactions
  • Prepare, analyze, and enhance various management and financial/accounting reports
  • Handle local GAAP accounting and reporting
  • Play an active role in SOX internal control processes
  • Work in a multi‑cultural environment and collaborate with colleagues across regions.
What It Takes

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive communicator who thrives in a team environment and demonstrates a high level of accuracy. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance discipline (University Degree 4 years or equivalent)
  • 2–4-year experience in Accounting or Auditing
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP, Lux GAAP) as well as technical aspects (multi‑currency, loans, equity movements, hedging etc.)
  • Interest in AI and automation tools for finance, with practical experience or a strong willingness to learn and adopt new digital solutions.
  • IT skills: Proficiency in MS Office (macros are a plus), PowerPoint; experience with SAP or other global accounting software is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles.
  • Accurate, conscientious, and detail‑oriented, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to solve problems, identify options, and propose solutions.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; a team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English (both spoken and written); any other language is an asset.
