Job summary

Ericsson is seeking a dedicated 5G NR Senior Baseband UPC Software Product Guardian to join the team. The role focuses on development and maintenance of UPC Scheduler within Ericsson's baseband software architecture and alignment with EMCA purpose-built and virtualized RAN solutions.

You will drive architecture discussions, define a roadmap for UPC domain product development, and collaborate across domains while ensuring quality and performance in a challenging, global environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in baseband software architecture with 2+ years in UPC domain.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree majored in wireless communications.
• Real-Time Software development knowledge, especially in multi-core deployment.
• Experience with NR scheduler functions, QoS, HARQ, DL link adaptation, carrier aggregation.
• Understanding of 3GPP standards & RRM functions.
• Strong programming skills in C or C++ and implemented software.
• Excellent communication in verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage in architecture discussions for UPC and drive development of UPC Scheduler with focus on EMCA purpose-built.
• Own UPC domain product development roadmap and develop future-proof software.
• Analyze and propose improvements in the domain for efficient implementation.
• Define and implement SW design principles, test strategy and competence development for the domain.
• Participate in Ericsson EMCA & GPP design forums with SW and HW requirements insights.
• Interface with other domains and participate in technical meetings as UPC representative.

About this opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated 5G NR Senior Baseband UPC Software Product Guardian (PG) to join our team at Ericsson. This engaging role involves the development and maintenance of our products and services, including components, units, nodes, networks, systems, and solutions. The UPC Scheduler is key domain within Ericsson's baseband software architecture. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and architectural readiness of the UPC Scheduler to align with the roadmap for new features being concurrently developed in both EMCA purpose-built and virtualized RAN solutions. In depth knowledge in domain and deep understanding of the Baseband SW/HW architecture is mandatory to optimal work in this role and contributes to the verification strategy, especially on code and sub-Module / Domain level, including interaction/co-existence with other features. The daily work involves high level decision making and affects hundreds of Ericsson employees across the world.

You will

• - Actively engage in the architecture discussions for UPC and take the initiative to drive the concurrent development of UPC Scheduler functions with main focus on EMCA purpose-built.
• - Be responsible for UPC domain product development roadmap, develop future-proof SW for UPC.
• - Analyze and propose new solutions/improvements in the domain to ensure efficient implementation.
• - Define and carry out the realization of SW design principles in UPC domain, including domain design rules, test strategy and competence development plan for the domain.
• - Actively participate of Ericsson EMCA & GPP design forums with insight on both SW and HW requirements
• - Interface withother domains and participate in technical meetings as UPC representative.

To be successful in the role you must have

• - 3+ years in baseband software architecture with 2+ years in UPC domain.
• - Bachelor’s or preferably master’s degree majored in wireless communication.
• - Real-Time Software development knowledge especially in a multi-core deployment scenario
• - Experience with systemization or implementation of NRscheduler functions , QoS, HARQ, DL link adaptation, carrier aggregation
• - Understanding of 3GPP standards & RRM functions
• - Well-crafted programming skills in C or C++ Implemented software
• - Skills to co-ordinate technical forum inside UPC domain
• - Excellent communication in verbal and written English

Additional Requirements

• - In-depth knowledge of 3GPP standards, particularly NR protocols and the systemization of complex NR features.
• - MSc level in Wireless Protocol/5G User Plan Control
• - Solid understanding of AI concepts
