Job summary

XUP Brands is seeking a Video and Photography Lead to direct, execute, and manage high‑quality visual content across our e‑commerce brands. This role blends creative vision with commercial performance, preserving each brand’s identity while scaling content production for product listings, social media, and marketing campaigns.

You will lead a team of photographers, videographers, editors, and freelancers, oversee pre‑production, studio operations, and end‑to‑end post‑production, ensuring assets

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial photography and videography
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools
• Strong understanding of how visual content drives e-commerce performance
• Portfolio demonstrating lighting, editing, and directing across brand aesthetics
• Experience in fashion or consumer goods is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain distinct visual guidelines for each brand
• Lead concept development for campaigns, launches, and promotions
• Translate current visual trends into brand-appropriate content across channels
• Direct high-volume ecommerce product photography (on-model and flat lay) and video content
• Oversee pre-production activities: location scouting, talent casting, props
• Manage studio operations, gear inventory and upgrades
• Oversee post-production workflow: retouching, color grading, editing, formatting
• Mentor and manage junior photographers, videographers, editors, and freelancers
• Collaborate with Marketing, Social Media, and E-commerce teams to align content with KPIs
• Maintain a structured digital asset management system for thousands of SKUs

Role Overview

The Video and Photography Lead will direct, execute, and manage high-quality visual content across our portfolio of e-commerce brands. This role bridges creative vision with commercial performance, ensuring each brand maintains its distinct visual identity while scaling content production for product listings, social media, and marketing campaigns.

Core Responsibilities

1. Creative & Art Direction

• Multi-Brand Guardianship: Develop and maintain distinct visual guidelines (lighting, composition, mood) for each of the company's brands.
• Campaign Conceptualization: Lead ideation for seasonal campaigns, product launches, and promotional events across all digital touch-points.
• Trend Translation: Adapt current visual trends in e-commerce, social media (TikTok, Reels), and digital marketing into brand-appropriate content.

2. Production & Execution

• Shoot Management: Direct and shoot high-volume e-commerce product photography (on-model and flat lay) and dynamic video content.
• Pre-Production: Oversee studio design, location scouting, talent casting, and prop sourcing.
• Studio Operations: Manage the internal studio space, equipment inventory (cameras, lighting, audio), and technical upgrades.

3. Post-Production & Workflow

• Pipeline Management: Oversee the end-to-end post-production workflow, including retouching, color grading, video editing, and final formatting for various platforms (web, IG, TikTok, YouTube).
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all visual assets meet technical specifications and brand standards before deployment.
• Asset Organization: Maintain a structured, searchable digital asset management (DAM) system for thousands of multi-brand SKUs.

4. Leadership & Collaboration

• Team Management: Mentor and manage junior photographers, videographers, editors, and external freelancers/agencies.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with the Marketing, Social Media, and E-commerce/Web teams to align visual content with sales targets and digital KPIs.

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in commercial photography and videography, with a strong focus on e-commerce, fashion, or consumer goods.
• Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency with industry-standard camera systems, studio lighting setups, and audio capture.
• Software Skills: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One).
• Commercial Acumen: A deep understanding of how visual content drives e-commerce conversion rates and social media engagement.
• Portfolio: A robust portfolio/reel demonstrating versatile lighting, editing, and directing skills across different brand aesthetics.
