Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage US federal and state tax compliance for assigned client accounts.
  • Prepare, review, and file individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
  • Maintain accurate tax records in QuickBooks Online/Desktop.
  • Analyze client data to ensure accurate tax calculations and reporting.
  • Provide advisory support on tax planning, deductions, credits, and reporting improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align tax data with accounting and financial reporting outputs.
  • Identify tax risks, opportunities, and process improvements for key accounts.
  • Support senior management with tax summaries, forecasts, and audit documentation.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with US tax laws.

Job description

US Tax Specialist will be responsible for overseeing tax-related activities for key clients, ensuring compliance with US federal and state tax regulations, and delivering timely, accurate tax filings and reports. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in US taxation, accounting, and client reporting, with hands‑on experience using QuickBooks and other accounting tools.

This role also involves working closely with internal finance teams and clients to analyze tax data, identify opportunities for efficiency, and support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee US federal and state tax compliance for assigned client accounts.
  • Prepare, review, and file individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, as applicable.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and tax records in QuickBooks Online/Desktop.
  • Analyze client data to ensure accurate tax calculations, adjustments, and reporting.
  • Provide advisory support to clients regarding tax planning, deductions, credits, and reporting improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure tax data is aligned with accounting and financial reporting outputs.
  • Identify and communicate tax risks, opportunities, and process improvements for key accounts.
  • Support senior management with tax summaries, forecasts, and audit documentation.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality, data integrity, and compliance with applicable US tax laws and internal standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • ACCA qualification, CPA, or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation preferred.
  • Proven experience in US taxation, including preparation and review of federal and state returns.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop, including reconciliations, journal entries, and tax-related reporting.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and IRS regulations.
  • Experience working with US-based clients in sectors such as healthcare, technology, or finance.
  • Excellent understanding of tax forms, filing procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with tax or reporting tools (e.g., Drake, ProConnect, or Power BI) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and client management abilities in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, agile setting.
