Job summary

Indus Hospital is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist in Imaging Services. Fresh graduates or those with up to 1 year of ultrasound experience will perform abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecological, and small parts studies under the supervision of radiologists.

You will ensure accurate image acquisition, document preliminary reports, assist in ultrasound-guided procedures, maintain equipment and SOPs, coordinate with clinical teams, upload images and reports into HMIS, and uphold patient

Qualifications

• Fresh or up to 1 year of ultrasound experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging Technology.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecological, and small parts studies under supervision of radiologist/resident.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and documentation of preliminary report for radiologist/resident reporting/review.
• Assist radiologists in ultrasound-guided procedures when required.
• Identify critical findings and promptly inform the radiologist for timely reporting.
• Upload images, edit, and manage reports in the HMIS in timely manners.

Job Description

• ü Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynecological, and small parts studies under supervision of radiologist/resident.
• ü Ensure accurate image acquisition and documentation of preliminary report for radiologist /resident reporting/ review.
• ü Assist radiologists in ultrasound-guided procedures (FNAC, Biopsies, collection drainage) when required.
• ü Identify critical findings and promptly inform the radiologist for in time reporting.
• ü Maintain critical alerts record register as per policy.
• ü Confirm patient identity, clinical history, and informed consent.
• ü Ensure patient comfort, dignity, and privacy during procedures.
• ü Maintain imaging quality standards and compliance with protocols.
• ü Conduct routine checks of ultrasound equipment and report faults to the biomedical department.
• ü Support standardization of ultrasound practices across the department.
• ü Maintain logs, workload statistics, and performance records.
• ü Assist in development and review of ultrasound SOPs and protocols.
• ü Coordinate with radiologists and clinical teams for smooth workflow.
• ü Upload images, edit, and manage reports in the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) in timely manners.
• ü Maintain appropriates records and statistics, monitor KPIs and make measures to improve the KPIs.
• ü Maintain, store and consume inventory items (tissue roll, Gel, Ball points etc) used in department.
• ü Comply with institutional policies, departmental SoP's, and accreditation standards.
• ü Ensure strict adherence to patient confidentiality, infection control, safety, data protection, and ethical standards.
• ü Perform any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor that is commensurate with your knowledge and skills.
