Job summary

AllumiaX is hiring a Power Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Pakistan and collaborate with our colleagues in California. You will model MV/LV distribution, perform short‑circuit studies and arc flash analysis, and contribute to project documentation and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has a degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems and 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems specialization.

Responsibilities

• Model MV and LV electrical distribution facilities in ETAP and SKM.
• Perform short-circuit studies and equipment evaluation for facilities.
• Conduct Arc Flash Analysis and reduce incident energy where possible.
• Prepare Arc Flash, Coordination, and Short Circuit studies for projects.
• Write technical articles and contribute to engineering processes.
• Lead some projects while supporting others within a team.
• Support project management and business development activities.

Job description

AllumiaX is hiring for the post of Power Systems Engineer. Graduates from HEC and PEC recognized institutes/universities, who are passionate about growing and improving their skills in a diversified environment are encouraged to apply.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Engineering team in Pakistan and California and work on projects in the Pacific Northwest USA (Washington, Oregon, California, Texas and others) as well as the East Coast. You will have an opportunity to acquire a unique skill set abroad variety of power systems engineering skills in this role.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background with ambition to excel in their profession. They must have the passion to learn engineering tools and software and effectively apply the engineering concepts learned throughout their earlier course of study, supporting the Engineering Teams in CA and Karachi.

If a position is secured, there will be a 3–6-month probation period or earlier, where the candidate’s skills and performance will be observed. This period will be fully paid. Given the skills, performance, aptitude, and potential matches’ business needs and expectations, transitioning into a permanent role within six months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model low and medium voltage electrical distribution facilities in ETAP Electrical software as well as SKM and others.
• Perform short-circuit studies and equipment evaluation for industrial and commercial facilities
• Perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis and recommend methods and solutions to reduce incident energy at an electrical point in industrial and commercial facilities.
• Prepare Arc Flash, Coordination, Short Circuit studies for various small and large projects.
• Write technical articles, blogs and contribute to the improvement of engineering processes.
• Be a contributing member of a team for some projects while being the lead for other projects.
• Support project management, business development and execute on strategies.

Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in power systems.
• 0-2 years of experience relevant to the field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills using internet collaboration tools (MS 365 , MS Teams, Skype etc.) and over the phone
• Computer literate and able to write technical reports using MS Office
• Self-motivated individual with highly developed organizational skills
• Must be able to effectively communicate plans, thoughts and rationale towards the job
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
• Good judgment and highly dependable
