Job summary

Pakistan Tobacco Company is seeking a Team Lead - SMD in Akora Khattak, Pakistan to oversee shift operations and drive production targets. The role requires engineering expertise, strong leadership, and hands-on problem solving on the shop floor.

You will mentor teams, optimize machine performance, and ensure quality targets (Q2S/Q2C) are met while promoting continuous improvement and safe, efficient manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Internship/0.5–1 year operations experience is a plus.
• Strong technical concepts in machine build and electrical systems.
• Mentor and develop others on the shop floor.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and control shift operations to meet daily/monthly production targets.
• Ensure downtime and machine operation align with Master Production Schedule and IWS.
• Manufacture high-quality products by meeting Q2S and Q2C targets.
• Improve processes to reduce market complaints and preserve product integrity.
• Deploy workforce according to crewing patterns to maximize output.
• Drive process reliability and minimize downtime against the Master Production Schedule.
• Lead root cause analysis for chronic stops on the floor.
• Lead the Shift Transition Meeting per Site DDS DMS.

Pakistan Tobacco Company has an exciting opportunity for a Team Lead - SMD in Akora Khattak, Pakistan

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Schedule and control shift operations effectively to achieve daily and monthly production targets
• Ensure scheduled downtime and seamless operation of machines to meet Master Production Schedule targets and support the IWS philosophy
• Manufacture high-quality products by meeting/exceeding quality targets in terms of Q2S and Q2C by following agreed quality processes
• Improve processes to reduce/eliminate market complaints and ensure product integrity
• Deploy workforce effectively as per agreed crewing pattern to achieve desired output
• Achieve outstanding outcomes in Process Reliability, Planned and Unplanned Downtime while meeting the Master Production Schedule
• Lead issue resolution to Root Cause on the floor of chronic stops
• Lead the Shift Transition Meeting, per the Site DDS DMS

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Experience in managing operations through internships or employment (0.5 - 1 year) is a plus
• Strong technical concepts in machine build, technical drawings, electrical systems
• Proven ability to mentor and develop others on the shop floor
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, unionized, and digitally-focused environment
• Sound skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate is advantageous
