Job summary

Rapex Technologies in Islamabad seeks a hands-on Lead Software Developer to architect, build and scale large end-to-end applications. You will lead a full-stack team, owning frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure decisions with a strong focus on performance, security and maintainability.

You will guide the product lifecycle, define technical standards, and mentor engineers while collaborating closely with product and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software on schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack development, with 3+ years in tech lead/architect roles.

Position Overview

We're seeking a hands-on Tech Lead who can architect, build, and scale large applications end-to-end; someone who has taken a product from a blank whiteboard to a live, revenue generating system. You'll lead a full-stack engineering team while staying deeply technical.

Key Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture and design decisions across frontend, backend, database, and infrastructure layers

• Lead full-stack development using MERN, .NET, Angular, and PostgreSQL, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.

• Translate business requirements into technical designs, working closely with Product/BA and stakeholders.

• Guide the team through the full product lifecycle: ideation, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch iteration.

• Set up and enforce engineering best practices including code reviews, branching strategy, CI/CD, coding standards.

• Design secure integrations with third-party systems (payment gateways, KYC/AML providers, insurance rating engines, logistics/carrier APIs).

• Own system scalability and performance with database design, caching, load balancing, microservices/monolith trade-offs.

• Mentor and grow a team of full-stack developers; conduct technical interviews.

• Collaborate with DevOps/SRE on cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers, and deployment pipelines.

• Balance technical debt against delivery timelines and communicate trade-offs to leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience, with 3+ years in a tech lead/architect capacity. Strong hands-on expertise in MERN stack, .NET, Angular, and PostgreSQL (or equivalent RDBMS).

• Proven track record of independently building and launching applications from scratch.

• Solid understanding of system design, microservices, API design, and database architecture. Experience with secure coding practices and payment gateway integrations.

• Strong grasp of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

Good-to-Have:

• Experience in Fintech, InsureTech, or Logistics products.

• Exposure to compliance-driven architecture (PCI-DSS, data encryption, audit logging).

• Experience contributing to product strategy, go-to-market, or early-stage sales support.

• Prior startup or 0-to-1 product-building experience.
