Job description

The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) invites applications for a Teaching Associate position in various sections. The Teaching Associate is expected to develop and execute the courses for the Professional Development Centre (PDC). The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s/PhD degree and have a proven record in delivering sessions/trainings on specific subjects.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• designing and/or refining the course outline, including learning objectives, content modules, readings, assignments, and assessments.
• delivering lectures, facilitating discussions, and guiding student learning through in-person or virtual sessions.
• co-facilitating with AKU IED faculty.
• maintaining academic integrity and inclusive learning practices.
• submitting a course report upon completion, including an overview of participants’ engagement and recommendations for future improvement.
• developing a proposal and concept note for a self-initiated CPE, subject to approval.
• participating in course planning and review meetings, as required.
• providing support for customized training sessions.

Requirements

You should have:

• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (PhD preferred)
• School Leadership Experience or prior teaching experience at the university level
• Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter of the assigned course
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
